What Areas On The Face Are Fillers Used To Treat?

Sherry Mitchell is an expert in facial aesthetics. She uses advanced injection techniques based on years of training and experience and may inject areas on the face not typically injected by the amateur or untrained injector.

Cheeks/Midface – restore volume to the cheeks, lift the face, and emphasize the cheek bones

Jawline – sharpen the jawline and minimize the appearance of the jowls

Prejowl – treat the area of volume loss just in front of the jowl but to the side of the chin

Temples – treat the scalloped appearance of the upper face due to volume loss in this area

Undereyes – improve dark circles caused by volume loss and prominent tear troughs

Frown lines – used in combination with Botox

Forehead lines – for deep lines on the forehead which Botox itself cannot completely treat

Neck lines – filler in “necklace lines” on the neck

Hands – treat volume loss in the hands caused by aging; reduce appearance of veins and tendons in the hands

Nasolabial folds – fill in smile lines

General guidelines for the fillers longevity are as follows:

  • Restylane Silk – 4-6 months
  • Restylane Refyne, Restylane Defyne – 9-12 months
  • Restylane – 9-12 months
  • Restylane Lyft – 9-12 months
  • Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm UltraPlus – 9-12 months
  • Juvederm Voluma – 9-15 months
  • Juvederm Volbella – 6-12 months
  • Sculptra – 24 + months

A filler may last a longer or shorter duration on different parts of the face. For example, the lips tend to have lots of movement and so filler breaks down faster. The undereyes, cheeks, and temples have less movement and so filler injected in these parts of the face usually last longer.
