The past six years have been a journey, and yesterday’s visit (now that I have had time to process and recover) was probably one of the hardest. I had the pleasure of being seen by nurse practitioner, Amanda Lopez. I tried to look up as much information as I could about the procedure I was having prior to it, but truth be told there’s nothing that can prepare you for cryotherapy. During the procedure she continuously offered reassurance and made sure I was at ease. When one thinks about going to see an OBGYN specialist they may not even consider the fact that they too save lives every day from various forms of cancer including cervical cancer. This has been a summer I will never forget (the time I turned 40 and fought against the odds of getting cervical cancer). And if I must go through this journey I am thankful to have the medical staff of Sweetwater OBGYN with me along the way. Thank you so much for all that you do to support women and women’s health.
