Greetings from Sweetwater!
BioTE® Hormone Therapy
Sweetwater is proud to introduce our new BioTe hormone pellets for bio-identical hormone replacement therapy! Studies have shown, balanced hormones are necessary for good health and disease prevention for women and men as we age. BioTE optimizes hormone levels with tiny pellets just under the skin!
WHAT IS IT?
Bio-identical hormones are identical biologically to human hormones which minimize with age. The best analogy to explain bio-identical hormones is to look at the hormones and the receptors within our bodies, (hundreds of thousands) as a lock and key system. The hormone is the key and the receptors they work upon are the locks. Bio-identical hormones fit perfectly into the locks, and unlock all of the beneficial effects of hormones, and when dosed properly, as with the BioTE method, you have minimal side effects.
Hormone pellets are the only type of hormone replacement therapy that delivers hormones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for three to five months in females and approximately 6 months for male patients.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Hormone pellets release bio-identical hormones into the bloodstream continuously following a simple placement, underneath the skin, by your healthcare provider. Hormone pellets are the only type of hormone replacement therapy that delivers hormones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

What is Breast Cancer?
Cancer happens when cells spontaneously start growing out of control. It is classified as breast cancer if the cells of breast tissue behave this way. If a group of cells start affecting the surrounding tissue or spreads to other areas of the body, it is considered malignant cancer.
Early detection is key in prevention of breast cancer. Yearly annuals can help you supervise your breast health along with your yearly mammograms. If you have a family history of breast cancer, it is especially important that you receive your yearly exams. You can also supervise yourself with at home self-breast exams
How to Perform a Self-Breast Exam
1) In the Shower
Using the pads of your fingers, move around your entire breast in a circular pattern moving from the outside to the center, checking the entire breast and armpit area. Check both breasts each month feeling for any lump, thickening, or hardened knot. Notice any changes and get lumps evaluated by your healthcare provider.
2) In Front of a Mirror
Visually inspect your breasts with your arms at your sides. Next, raise your arms high overhead. Look for any changes in the contour, any swelling, or dimpling of the skin, or changes in the nipples. Next, rest your palms on your hips and press firmly to flex your chest muscles. Left and right breasts will not exactly match—few women’s breasts do, so look for any dimpling, puckering, or changes, particularly on one side.
3) Lying Down
When lying down, the breast tissue spreads out evenly along the chest wall. Place a pillow under your right shoulder and your right arm behind your head. Using your left hand, move the pads of your fingers around your right breast gently in small circular motions covering the entire breast area and armpit. Use light, medium, and firm pressure. Squeeze the nipple; check for discharge and lumps. Repeat these steps for your left breast.
Have Cancer in the family?
Many women (and men) remain at increased risk of cancer and are unaware of lifesaving medical options available to them. Your personal and family history of cancer matter and hereditary cancer testing saves lives. As board-certified Ob Gyn Specialists, we recognize the importance of the identification and management of patients with elevated cancer risks. We have incorporated risk assessments and genetic testing into our practice years ago and would love to tell you how genetic testing has evolved in recent years and how it has become a benefit to our patients. If you are interested in assessing your own risk, please take the quick survey below.
